- 매직 존슨
80년대 전설적인 NBA 농구 스타였던 매직 존슨은 1991년 11월 HIV 양성 반응으로 판정받고 은퇴를 발표했다.
매직 존슨은 감염된 지 16년 이상이 지났지만, 훨씬 왕성한 활동을 하고 있으며, 현재 건강하게 살고 있다.
- 윤 가브리엘2001년 HIV 양성 판정을 받고 8년째 투병중이다. 2004년, 투병중에 복용하던 약에 대한 내성으로 그 당시 필요했던 푸제온을 구하지 못해 생사의 고비에 서게 되었다가, 최근 국제구호단체를 통해 푸제온을 공급받아 위기를 면했다.
푸제온은 국내시판 허가를 받아 보험에 등재되었으나 가격이 낮다는 이유로 로슈(Roche)사가 시판을 하지 않고 있는 신약이다.
